Inpatient management tracks patients during hospital stays — from admission through discharge. Manage beds, daily care, and complete medical records.
Step 1 — View bed availability
Navigate to Inpatient → Ward Board. See all beds in the facility, color-coded by status:
- Green: Available.
- Blue: Occupied.
- Red: Maintenance/cleaning.
Step 2 — Admit a patient
Click an available bed and select Admit Patient. Fill in:
- Patient: Search and select (or create new).
- Ward: Which unit (ICU, general, maternity).
- Primary diagnosis: Reason for admission.
- Admission date & time: When they arrived.
- Expected length of stay: Estimated duration.
Step 3 — Assign beds and manage daily care
From the Admissions list, click an admission to see:
- Bed assignment: Current location.
- Daily notes: Nursing and physician observations.
- Vital signs: Monitored and logged each shift.
- Medications: Active prescriptions and times given.
Step 4 — Manage bed assignments
Click Reassign Bed to move a patient (e.g., from ICU to general ward). Select the destination bed; the system logs the transition date and reason.
Step 5 — Discharge a patient
When recovery is complete, click Discharge. Enter:
- Discharge date & time.
- Disposition: Home, another facility, etc.
- Follow-up: Outpatient appointments booked.
- Discharge summary: Finalized diagnosis and plan.
Then confirm to close the admission and free the bed.
