Payment types

Define how clients pay you — cash, mobile money, card, bank transfer.

Payment types are the methods your clients use to pay — cash, mobile money, card, bank transfer. Defining them lets you record each payment against the right method and see where your money actually comes in.

Step 1 — Open the payment types list

Click Payment types in settings. Each method shows its name and whether it’s active. Nkapio ships with common methods; you can add your own.

Step 2 — Add a payment type

Click New payment type. Name it clearly — for example “MTN Mobile Money” or “Orange Money” — and mark it active. Save it, and it becomes selectable when you record a payment at the point of sale.

Tip: keep your list short and specific. Separate methods make your revenue reports far easier to reconcile at the end of the day.
