Fair, structured performance reviews. Create a review cycle, invite feedback from across the team, and document performance ratings and growth goals in one place.
Step 1 — Create a performance review cycle
From HR, click Reviews and then New review cycle. Set the review period (e.g., Q3 2026), review deadline, and which employees will be reviewed. Add review questions or use Nkapio’s standard template.
Step 2 — Invite reviewers and start feedback
Notify managers and peers that reviews are open. They log in, select the employee they’re reviewing, and fill in the feedback form with ratings (5-point scale), comments, and suggested goals.
Step 3 — Employee self-assessment
The employee also completes a self-assessment: how they see their own performance, achievements, and areas for growth. This balances manager feedback with self-reflection.
Step 4 — Manager consolidates and finalizes
The manager compiles all feedback, discusses with the employee, and documents the final review: overall rating, strengths, development areas, and agreed-upon goals for the next period.
Tips
- Schedule reviews at fixed intervals (annual, bi-annual) so they feel consistent.
- Keep review questions simple and behavior-focused (avoid ambiguous personality traits).
- Always include a self-assessment so employees feel heard.
- Link review outcomes to professional development plans or salary reviews so feedback drives action.
